JennTheRedman x Jane Wang

If you’ve been paying attention to my work, you should recognize JennTheRedman from my first music video with Jessica Nathania, “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.” Jenn and I first met on the day we shot that video and I was excited that he reached out to pursue another project together. This music video is a passion collaboration with his dear friend, Jane Wang, and they covered an anime theme they both really enjoy. Both are very skilled musicians— Jane performed Dizi and sang while Jenn performed on and produced the arrangement.

When the weather ruined our hopes of shooting this outdoors, Jane offered a shared space in her apartment building for us to shoot in. We took advantage of the practical curtains in the room to create a pseudo-studio/stage environment. This simple backdrop was complimented with nice outfits, rounding out a very clean production design. I used two Neewer 660 LED panels as a key, one 660 for backlight, three ADJ LEDs as uplights and a small Ultimaxx light for an eye light. This was shot on my usual FS5 + Sigma 18-35 f1.8 with BPM 1/8 rig.
